Rob began his professional career in 2006 alongside Graeme Wood and subsequently spent seventeen years proudly providing eye care to the greater Essendon community.
​
A local through and through, Rob attended St Bernard’s College before completing a Bachelor of Optometry at the University of Melbourne. He values the independence that comes with running his own practice. This translates to high-quality local and international frame and lens suppliers, sustainable options, and the latest in modern equipment. Most importantly, it allows him to offer continuity of care and personalised visual outcomes for his patients.

Rob is passionate about building lasting relationships with his patients and is driven to provide the best eye care possible to the community. Outside the clinic, he loves his Dees, Storm, horse racing and is always up for a tip and a chat!
Simone Hibbert

Optometrist, Managing Director
Simone's journey into eye care began at just two years old, when she underwent eye muscle surgery. Having experienced the life-changing impact of early intervention and quality care, she is deeply passionate about providing that same level of care to her patients.

A proud Essendon local, Simone attended St Columba’s College and MacRobertson Girls’ High School before completing her Optometry degree at the University of Melbourne.
​
Over ten years before Ascot Vale Eyecare, her career has taken her across Australia, from regional and remote communities to leading paediatric clinics in Melbourne. Through these diverse experiences, Simone has developed a broad skillset, with a special interest in working with children of all ages. She’s thrilled to bring her expertise and warm, patient-focused approach back to the community where she grew up.

Outside of Optometry she loves to keep fit with Pilates, explore local restaurants and on weekends she supports Carlton Blues.
Megan
Optical Dispenser
Megan is an experienced Optical Dispenser with 12 years in the Optometry Industry. Known for her expertise and friendly approach, she is dedicated to helping patients find the perfect eyewear solutions to suit their needs.

A proud supporter of the Western Bulldogs, Megan enjoys cheering on her team in her free time. She also loves spending quality time with her son, making every moment count both at work and at home.
Nancy
Optical Dispenser
With over 30 years of experience in the Optometry industry, Nancy is a highly skilled and passionate Optical Dispenser. She takes pride in helping patients achieve the perfect fit for their eyewear while ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.

When she’s not helping patients, Nancy loves spending time in the kitchen, channeling her creativity through cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Her dedication and enthusiasm make her an integral part of the Ascot Vale Eyecare team.
Billy
Usually Sleeping on The Job
Billy joined our team nearly a year ago, thanks to Rob and Simone feeling guilty for leaving him at home one day.
​
Since then, he has become a beloved member of our workplace, bringing joy to both staff and patients every day. He thrives on attention and affection, always ready for a friendly pat
.
When not at Ascot Vale Eyecare, Billy loves to play fetch, indulge in chicken treats and sleeps a lot!
